The Movie, Showing Roots Is Buzzing on The Film Festival Circuit

After winning the "Spirit of Freedom: Narrative Award" at the Bahamas Film Festival, the new movie, Showing Roots, written by Susan Batten and directed by DGA Awardnominee Michael Wilson, continues to receive accolades at various film festivals. On April 3, 2016, Showing Roots premiered at the Maryland International Film Festival and received the "Best Feature Film" award. Showing Roots features an all-star cast which includes Maggie Grace (Lost, Taken), Uzo Aduba (Orange is the New Black), Elizabeth McGovern (Downton Abbey), Adam Brody (The O.C.), and Cicely Tyson (How to Get Away with Murder).
